Welcome to the Holtville Elementary School Library

Mission: To support student learning first and everything else second.

The mission of the Holtville Elementary School Library Media Center is to develop life-long learners who are effective users of ideas and information in an ever-changing technological society. To accomplish this mission, the Librarian will encourage a love of reading, provide access to resources in a variety of formats, teach students the skills necessary to locate, evaluate, and use information, and collaborate with other educators to create learning activities that support the curriculum.

Flexible Schedules allow students to enjoy library lessons and independent check out times. Students may visit the library for circulation during open circulation and library classes.

Circulation allows students to check out books to encourage reading. Students in K-1 can check out 1-2 books, 2nd-4th can check out 1-3 books. Students who have overdue, lost or damaged books will not be able to check out until their accounts are cleared.

Damaged or Lost books are the responsibility of the student/parent. All books that are lost or damaged will have to be paid for before other books are checked out.
